Where will you live? How will you look like? How will you behave like? Is it hard to imagine? Don’t worry, we will help you. J
We were 3 youth NGO’s: RJOS “Apvalus stalas”, Asociatia de Cultura si Educatie „Sperante Ramniceana“, Medias Local Youth Council and we cooperated with Rokiškis and Ramnicu Sarat municipalities. We and partners say- Tomorrow starts today. We invite you to draw the portrait of your future now! We think that in order to create a better future world need to start construction work of the present moment. The youth democracy project “Tomorrow starts today” involved young people with fewer opportunities, who live in rural areas, to look at themselves and indicate themselves as European citizens, to understand importance of democratic processes in their states, to become active participants in local community and all Europe life and to get more knowledge about youth policy making. The project consisted of two phases: the first one involved 18 young people from the project promoters’ organizations, from Lithuania and Romania. Participants have meet and deepened their knowledge about: representative democracy, youth policy implementation levels, the concept of human rights and how it could be used in youth work and the many other important things. The second phase involved youth from local communities; this was achieved by organizing meetings with local politicians- decision makers, informative events, interactive activities based on non-formal education methods, involving young people to raise issues of concern and propose their own constructive solutions.
Why we were doing this project? Because we wanted to make young people aware of European citizenship and help them to understand their role in local and global democracy processes of the future world. With project partners we created multi-culture space there young people from different cultural backgrounds learned and shared good experience, through non-formal learning; promoted solidarity, human rights and tolerance in transnational level as a tool using intercultural co-operation and communication. And because we disseminated positive information about youth and formed better public opinion about young people.

During these 10 days of youth exchange in Rokiškis district young people from Lithuania, Latvia, Italy, Poland, Czech Republic and Bulgaria discussed democratic representation and decision making in the area of youth politics and improvement of representational skills, also they learned and search for information how youth could make a better influence in politics and decision making. The youth exchange was based on communication, collaboration, initiative and creativity of young people. We are going to use faster learning and in-formal education methods. Our aim is to help a person to find himself, train the capacity of self understanding, self-confidence and to gain knowledge and experience of representing their own organization. Partners of this project also face this problem, therefore we are going to seek for the best solutions together and share the experience with each other. After the exchange we published a work book “Take it!”. This book is dedicated to the youth in Europe. In this book a young person will be able to find all the results of this project (a model of representative person), as well as the tips how to develop competences of public speaking, self-confidence, diplomacy, controlling ones emotions, physical health, flexibility and creativity.

Have you heard how they drink coffee in Turkey? Or that it is normal to be late in Italy? The appearance, behaviour, style of communication, values of a person – all this corresponds to the concept of etiquette. We concentrate our attention to a young person, who has a lack of time and energy to figure out features of other cultures, what results in favourable circumstances for stereotypes to spread.
Stereotypes divide our world into two categories: the “Known” and the “Unknown”. Therefore, things that the young person is familiar with become synonymous with “good” and the ones unknown with “bad”. “Your brand”- symbolizes a removal of the labels , that we put on the persons right after we see them without even asking who they actually are.
The goal of the project is to establish a model for etiquette of intercultural communication, which would be easy to perceive for people with different nationalities, religions and languages. It is also aimed at the disapproval of forehand stereotypes, education of solidarity among young people and encouraging tolerance. In many different creative ways (drawing, acting, dancing, music, and non-verbal communication) we will question and analyze etiquette: appearance, behaviour at the table, ways of amusement, social and work-place behaviour, differences of religions, family structures, values, and the aspect of level of masculinity in different countries. During the final event the method of “living library” will be presented together with the experiences and perceptions of etiquette in different cultures. Finally, a version of the model for etiquette of intercultural communication thereby established by people from Italy, Portugal, France, Romania, Turkey and Lithuania will be introduced.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”2008″ tab_id=”1462384940511-84204c21-7f96″][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″][vc_single_image image=”5066″ img_size=”” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” onclick=”zoom”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”3/4″][vc_custom_heading text=”Tarptautiniai mainai „Identity makers“” google_fonts=”font_family:Montserrat%3Aregular%2C700|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal”][vc_column_text]Projektas vyko rugpjūčio 15-24 dienomis. Jo metu, suburtų jaunuolių iš įvairių Europos šalių, grupės tikslas buvo sukurti filmą apie Lietuvą užsieniečių akimis.
